Artur Babich's stance on the war in Ukraine

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Artur Babich adopted a stance of silence and left for the United States. While abroad, the blogger continued to remain silent about the war and promoted narratives about "brotherly peoples" and "peace" between the countries.

The Ukrainian national anthem incident

In November 2022, Babich and his fellow Dream Team House TikTok member Danya Milokhin, who had also fled Russia for the US, sang the Ukrainian national anthem together during a live social media stream. Later, Artur commented on the incident as follows:

We sang it without putting any meaning into it, without any subtext, especially a political one. We are just friends; we had lived together for two years. He is from Russia, I am originally from Ukraine. We wanted to use that moment to show that even in such a situation, we are friends. Would I do that now? No, I would not do that. Back then I simply did not understand! I didn't watch the news. I didn't understand... Danya was 19 back then, I was 21. And we did the whole thing just for laughs

Starting in September 2023, Babich was barred from entering Russia. As the TikToker reported, his temporary residence permit in the country expired earlier that year, leading the tax service to revoke his individual entrepreneur registration. As a result of these developments, Artur had to leave Russia.

Interview with Tatarka FM (2024)

In September 2024, Babich gave an interview to Kremlin propagandist Tatarka FM, an ardent proponent of the genocide of Ukrainians. In this interview, Artur lamented that he was not allowed into Russia, despite having lived there in recent years, dreaming of obtaining Russian citizenship, and renouncing his Ukrainian one. Quotes by the blogger from the interview:

Ukrainian TikTokers who curse Russia are doing the wrong thing. The Russian audience gave them everything they have. I understood that I have a sense of gratitude toward this audience, and to say something bad about a country you love, you'd have to be a fool

I have teenagers subscribed to me whose fathers are at the front. And I commit an act like that. If I could roll back time, I wouldn't have flown anywhere

I would like to return to Russia. That is the first thought I wake up with every day. When I returned to Russia from America, I immediately applied for a residence permit. That was a step that brought me closer to citizenship. But at the moment I left, I hadn't managed to receive it yet. I want to obtain citizenship and live in the country where I wanted to live. I made my choice long ago

When I receive a passport, I accept all the laws and agree with them. My father served in the army — that's the kind of real man he raised!

In December 2024, the blogger returned to Russia and, in his words, has no intention of ever leaving the country again and plans to acquire Russian citizenship.

Russian citizenship

On December 15, 2025, Babich announced on his Telegram channel that he had received a Russian passport, declaring that he was now "officially Russian."

Immediately afterwards, strict commenting rules were introduced on his channel — bans for discussing politics, the so-called SMO, condemnation, or insults.

HKR reports on alleged aid to the AFU in 2022

In March 2025, amid news that Babich had applied for Russian citizenship, information emerged online alleging his financial assistance to the Ukrainian army at the beginning of the full-scale war.

A prominent Telegram channel, HKR, based in his hometown of Kryvyi Rih, published messages asserting that in the spring of 2022, the blogger allegedly converted rubles into hryvnias through his mother and transferred funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, maintaining a pro-Ukrainian stance at the time. The channel's administrators claimed they were in direct contact with Artur at the start of the war and coordinated the aid, but that he later deleted the correspondence and disappeared.

Archived screenshots of the chat logs were published as alleged evidence.
