Dmitry Nazarov's stance on the war in Ukraine
The actor openly opposed the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, regularly published anti-war poetry on social media, and was fired from the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre (MKhT) alongside his wife, actress Olga Vasilyeva. Prior to his dismissal, the actor repeatedly advocated for an immediate ceasefire.
Dmitry published a poignant poem following his dismissal from the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre:
Submission was rammed down our throats with vile stench and terror,
I too followed orders, trained from youth without error.
Yet this new reality, without halter or leash to constrain,
Reveals such vast facets, you gasp at the breath you regain.
Following their dismissal, the actor and his wife emigrated to France, settling in Cannes.
Russian authorities filed an official administrative report against the actor for "discrediting the Russian Armed Forces".

Russia's gene pool falls into the dust.
Virtually all theatrical performances began to resonate completely differently. Immediately after February 24, «Walpurgis Night» was perceived in an entirely new light by the audience. Judging by the auditorium's reaction, the vast majority was definitely on our side.
Regarding the alleged genocide in Donbas: «Perhaps this blown-out-of-proportion genocide never existed at all. Perhaps it simply never took place, because if it had truly been as horrifying as they now describe to us, I have a massive question for our authorities: Why did you remain completely silent for eight years? What were you preparing for? Did you lack missiles or tanks? Did you lack soldiers? Or were you busy with something else? Or did you foresee that on February 24, 2022, all this would begin... that the world would react, and you needed to prepare? A simple question: your loved one is being beaten, and you walk away for eight years, days, hours — it doesn't matter — you turn your back knowing they are being beaten? That can only happen if nobody is being beaten.
Dmitry responded with verse to the rally speech of Ivan Okhlobystin on Red Square, who screamed "Goyda!" and demanded that the invasion be declared a "holy war":
What «goyda», guy? Are you an oprichnik? Are you a mad tsar's guard dog chained? To even think such thoughts is obscene, for that's the slogan of filthy thieves.
