Fuze (Artyom Brovkov) is a Russian hip-hop artist from Saint Petersburg, founder and the sole permanent member of the group Krec, formed in 2001. The musician became a symbol of an entire generation thanks to his lyrical style and the hit song «Tenderness» («Нежность»), featured in the soundtrack of the film «Piter FM».

Fuze Krec on the war in Ukraine

In April 2026, media reported the tragic death of the artist in a car accident.

Fuze Krec's stance on the war in Ukraine

Following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Fuze publicly spoke out against Russia's military aggression and left the country:

He urged fellow citizens to «stop burying their heads in the sand and pretending that nothing is happening»:

Friends, today more than ever we must stop burying our heads in the sand... This «Operation» brings nothing to our shared world except pain and death! I ask you, speak out openly through every means available to you that Russia is against this!

In June 2024, in an interview with «Meduza», Artyom shared the reasons behind his decision:

The first time we left Russia was on March 8, 2022... Deep down we hoped for an end to the war, but surrounding reality indicated the opposite: censorship was ramping up, articles on «fakes», «foreign agent» statuses... Concert organizers asked before shows not to say anything «like that» from the stage. It was obvious that the life of a public figure in Russia had become fraught with constant adaptation. Given a choice, I preferred not to compromise my principles and left.

The musician emphasized that he continues to speak out openly against the war despite the risks, since «having your own opinion comes at a high price these days».

Emigration and foreign agent status

While living in emigration, Fuze continued making music, releasing tracks reflecting on the themes of war and forced departure:

  • Album «Verses in the Closet» («Куплеты в шкафу»): In this work, Fuze addressed topics of PTSD among soldiers and emigration, calling it a «sober look» at the catastrophe.
  • Foreign agent status: In March 2025, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Artyom Brovkov in the registry of «foreign agents» for speaking out against the war.
  • Legal battles: The musician attempted to contest the status in court, but in January 2026 the court definitively rejected his appeal.

Brovkov's stance remained unwavering: he openly supported Ukraine and called for an end to the bloodshed.

I am deeply sorry, friend. We corresponded at the beginning of the war. And your words and your stance are the life story of a strong, honest, decent human being. I thank you for that.
