Serega Pirat's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Critique of Putin Prior to the Full-Scale Invasion
Even before 2022, the blogger made sharply critical statements regarding Putin and the submissive «endure everything» mentality of Russians:
My attitude is absolutely negative. As negative as it gets, the lowest threshold of negativity for Putin. If my friend steals 15 million from the budget, I don't give a damn that he's my friend—go to prison or return the money... That's a doormat mentality: ‘you can't say anything on the internet or things will turn out bad.’ If people keep having such a submissive mindset, that's exactly what will happen: you will simply be forbidden from saying anything at all.
Statements on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Serega Pirat made no public statements in support of either side. However, during one of his livestreams, he made it clear that he refuses to attribute clear culpability to any specific party:
Everyone here has their own interests. And if you dig deeper into it, well, everybody is to blame in this situation; everybody is at fault and at the same time nobody is at fault.
In this way, the blogger effectively refused to assign responsibility for the war to either side.
Attitude Toward Military Service and the Russian Army
When asked whether he would go to the front lines to fight «for the motherland», he replied that he would not, sharply distinguishing between «defending one's home against an attack» and «going to fight for someone else's objectives»:
I'm telling you, if a war starts and they really start drafting everyone—I'll be camping in the bushes... I'm not going to shoot at anyone, I'm not going to fight at all. My goal will simply be to survive. Why the fuck should I have to fight?
Am I supposed to fight over some politicians' fucking disagreements, like I've got nothing better to do? It's one thing to fight when you're fucking attacked and you defend your homeland. It's completely different to go and fight for someone else's objectives and risk your own life. Fuck that, why do I need that? I won't go anywhere.
He also expressed his opinion regarding the Russian military:
Well, if you served in the army, you're already an idiot. Tell us how they shoved a bottle up your (...) over there.
The blogger focuses predominantly on entertainment content, avoiding political discussions during his streams.
Serega Pirat's social media accounts have been added to the official register of Roskomnadzor (RKN), confirming his compliance with Russian statutory regulations governing bloggers.
