Eldzhey (Alexey Uzenyuk) is a Russian rap artist. Born on July 9, 1994 in Novosibirsk, Russia. Was previously married to television presenter and blogger Nastya Ivleeva.
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In 2018, he received a three-year ban on entering Ukraine due to anti-Ukrainian statements: the performer had declared that Crimea is “Russian territory into which Russia has historically invested a great deal” (during a live performance in Koktebel). By the time the lawsuit was reviewed in July 2020, the video recording of his performance in Crimea had been deleted from YouTube, and the entry ban to Ukraine was cancelled.
In December 2018, he was entered into the database of the Myrotvorets website for unauthorized visits to occupied Crimea and participation in Russian state propaganda efforts directed against Ukraine.
Eldzhey’s Position on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the so-called SMO, Eldzhey posted "No to war" on his Instagram:
Made the decision to postpone concerts in Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk. No to war!
After a short period, the post was deleted, and any subsequent concert reschedulings across Russian cities, if they took place, were officially attributed to "COVID restrictions" (as specified on Eldzhey's social networks). Currently, the rapper continues living and working in Russia and tours across Russian cities.
In September 2024, the artist was placed on the blacklist of artists whose public concerts the authorities consider undesirable in Russia due to an alleged anti-war stance.
