Misha Marvin (Mykhailo Reshetniak) is a Ukrainian and Russian singer and songwriter. Born on 15 July 1989 in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Brother of famous Ukrainian singer TAYANNA (Tetiana Reshetniak). He rose to prominence as an artist on the Russian label Black Star. For many years, he lived and built his career in Moscow.

Misha Marvin on the war in Ukraine

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.

Prior to 2022, the artist actively performed across both Russia and Ukraine, trying to maintain the image of a "musician outside of politics". However, his close ties with Russian show business and Timati's label Black Star (well known for its pro-Kremlin stance) raised questions among Ukrainian audiences even before the full-scale invasion.

Misha Marvin's stance on the war in Ukraine

Immediately after the start of the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, Misha Marvin, who was in Dubai at the time, spoke out in condemnation of the war. He published posts on social media supporting Ukraine and stated that he was terminating his cooperation with the Black Star label.

... people who believe that this is a military operation with no civilian casualties. Think about it!!! Even if you don't care about the slain soldiers whose mothers, wives, and small children are waiting for them at home... What about the children, the elderly, the adults in Ukraine who were waiting for their scheduled surgeries and never got them? What about the people whom an ambulance cannot reach right now? What about the mothers who are giving birth to their babies in basements right now instead of clean, equipped hospitals? Aren't they victims? If you want to lecture me about '8 years of killings', do you really think that should be answered with even greater casualties? I believe that everyone who wants to resolve their disagreements peacefully does so. There is no justification for war.

The artist even changed his stage name to "Misha M", as the rights to the "Marvin" brand remained with the Russian company, and released several tracks in Ukrainian, demonstrating a clear break with Russia.

About-face and return to Moscow

However, this stance did not last long. By September 2022, an abrupt reversal took place that was regarded in Ukraine as outright betrayal. Marvin returned to Russia and renewed his contract with Black Star, deleting his previous posts supporting Ukraine from social media. On his Instagram page, he posted an announcement declaring that he would continue collaborating with the Russian label:

The singer explained his return by claiming that he had "simply talked" with the label's CEO Pavel Kuryanov (Pashu) and "cleared up all misunderstandings". He ceased commenting on the war and the slaughter of his fellow countrymen, opting for total silence in order to preserve his income in the Russian Federation.

His biological sister, singer TAYANNA, commented on her brother's decision:

I don't bring up this subject, because, as the saying goes, don't stir up something foul and it won't spread around. I believe people should bear responsibility for themselves. Not one person answering for someone else

Participation in Z-propaganda

On 22 August 2025, Misha Marvin, alongside outspoken Putin supporter Mia Boyka, released a music video for "Akh ty, step shirokaya" ("Oh You Vast Steppe") as a special release for Russian National Flag Day. This project was carried out with funding from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The video was widely circulated by pro-Kremlin media outlets as a patriotic holiday special, demonstrating the singer's full loyalty to the regime that is destroying his homeland.

The artist is registered on the Russian "Gosuslugi" state portal in the Roskomnadzor (RKN) registry, meaning he officially submitted his personal data to the Russian state for regulatory oversight.

Currently, Misha Marvin continues to reside in Russia, perform at corporate events, and pay taxes into the budget of the aggressor state, ignoring the fact that his hometown and native country are under constant missile bombardment.
