In April 2022, he condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine by releasing the song “Uragany” («Hurricanes»). All revenue generated from the track's premiere was donated to charitable relief funds supporting refugees from Ukraine.
At the beginning of the music video, subtitles appear with the following statement:
I do not know a single person who consciously endorses bombings and missile strikes, the killing of human beings, and the destruction of cities. I am sure they exist — but I will never be able to share their point of view. I would very much like to influence this nightmare — to stop it, or even better, reverse it, so that military hardware and ammunition return to warehouses, destroyed cities rise from the ashes, and people rise from their graves.
In April 2022, LSP announced the postponement of concerts across Russia:
Friends, my team and I consider holding concerts in the current environment to be inappropriate. LSP’s tour across Russian cities is postponed.
In the summer of 2022, he posted on Instagram that “for obvious reasons” he would not be able to release the promised album in 2022.
Despite these vocal anti-war statements, by the end of 2022 LSP resumed active touring and concert activities across cities of the Russian Federation without providing any public commentary. All anti-war posts published by the artist were subsequently deleted.
He is registered on Roskomnadzor’s official creator registry via Gosuslugi. This signifies that the Russian state officially monitors and regulates his public and commercial activities.
