The position of Aleksandr Vasilyev (Splean) regarding the war in Ukraine
Aleksandr Vasilyev has not spoken out directly regarding the full-scale invasion, but by his actions, he made it clear that he opposes the war in Ukraine.
At the beginning of the war, the band Splean played two concerts on February 24 and 26, after which they canceled all remaining performances.
On February 27, a post with a black square and the hashtag "No to war!" appeared on the musicians' Facebook page.

Following the cessation of concerts in Russia, the band stopped maintaining their social media accounts.
On August 20, 2022, the band performed at the Chernozem festival in Voronezh, where they performed the song "Vikhoda Net" ("No Way Out"), dedicating it to everyone who had left Russia. Before playing the song, Aleksandr Vasilyev said the following:
Allow us to play a parting song that we would like to dedicate to the bands Mashina Vremeni, Aquarium, Tequilajazzz, and all the others who had to leave the country for various reasons. But we hope that a bright day will come when everyone will return and we will play here for you in Voronezh. Because we have no other way out.
Vasilyev also added:
It is gratifying to see so many people who have preserved mercy, compassion, and humaneness, who do not accept cruelty, violence, and murder. In these dark nights, even songs in major keys sound sorrowful.

Following this, the band's concerts began to be canceled across Russia.
Currently, the band Splean tours cities across Europe and neighboring countries; their tour schedule for 2024 can be found on their website.
