GONE. Fludd (real name Aleksandr Smirnov, also known as Sasha Buze) is a Russian rap artist. Born on July 4, 1994, in Polyarny, Murmansk Oblast.
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In a 2019 interview, he asserted his apolitical posture:
I do not get involved in politics. It is dirty. I understand that everything happening in the country is dishonest. But nothing will change just because I record some song. Am I supposed to stir up the people to revolt, calling for a revolution? Music for me is something entirely different. It is about feelings, about emotions.
GONE.Fludd's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, rapper GONE.Fludd cautiously spoke out against the war in a generic "peace to the world" spirit and expressed support for Ukrainians:
For a long time I could not find the right words of support for my listeners and everyone currently in Ukraine, and I am not even sure I have found them now. The only thing I am certain of is that this nightmare must end immediately. War is humanity's mistake. Human beings must not exterminate one another. Call your relatives, guard your mental well-being, preserve love in your heart, do not succumb to fear, help those beside you, hope for the best, do not turn away from one another, stick together, pray for peace. Our brotherly nations must not hate each other
NO TO WAR! HOLD ON, FRIENDS! TAKE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONES
That marked the end of his public remarks. GONE.Fludd continues to live and work in Russia, actively touring across cities of the Russian Federation.
