Michael Nacke's Stance on the War in Ukraine
From the very first day of the full-scale invasion, he has supported Ukraine and released news broadcasts on his YouTube channel and Telegram channel, where he documents Russian war crimes on a daily basis. He communicates with Ukrainian military personnel and closes fundraising campaigns for their needs.
On March 6, 2022, Michael Nacke published an anti-war post, comparing Russia to Nazi Germany:
Russia is now practically Nazi Germany. Complete with corresponding propaganda. And Ukraine... Ukraine fearlessly fights against invaders and occupiers. People desperately enter battle, defending their Homeland. And they are dying. Dying under bombardments, dying from bullets. And this is monstrous. This must be stopped at all costs. Russia doesn't need this, Ukraine doesn't need this. Only the cannibalistic ghoul—Vladimir Putin—needs this. Damn him.
Criminal Prosecution
On March 16, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case against Nacke under the article on discrediting the Russian army (Art. 207.3, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and put him on the wanted list. On August 29, 2023, Moscow's Basmanny Court sentenced Michael Nacke in absentia to 11 years of imprisonment for «spreading fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation».
