Dmitry Nyuberg is a Russian video blogger and streamer. He gained fame as a music critic and blogger, releasing video reviews of music albums, biographical video essays about public figures, and covering social and political topics. Born on May 15, 1996, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since 2024, he has been residing in the United States, in Ohio.

Nyuberg on the war in Ukraine

Since 2014, he has consistently spoken out against Russia's backing of the so-called "LPR" and "DPR." During Alexei Navalny's presidential campaign, he volunteered at one of his campaign headquarters and repeatedly took part in rallies and protests in his support.

In 2019, he released a video essay titled "Whose Is Crimea?", where he condemned the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On August 22, 2025, the Russian Ministry of Justice designated Dmitry Nyuberg a "foreign agent."

Nyuberg's stance on the war in Ukraine

Two days before the full-scale war began, Dmitry wrote on his Telegram channel:

I have never voted for Putin or United Russia. Furthermore, for the last 8 years I have been financially, actively, and informationally supporting the Russian opposition. Anyone who has followed me since the annexation of Crimea knows this. I am against war. Especially with Ukraine. I believe that anyone who supports this war and calls for it is unworthy of being called a human being....

On February 24, 2022, an anti-war post followed, urging people to take to the streets and refuse to stay silent:

This is war. The very one we were frightened with in childhood. Russia has attacked Ukraine. This will remain in memory, in hearts, and in history textbooks. Forever. This cannot be altered and cannot be fixed. It cannot be rewound. But it must be stopped. Today at 19:00 I will be on Pushkinskaya Square. I am not afraid, and I urge you not to be afraid. The central squares of your cities. At seven in the evening. If there are few of us—everyone will be locked up, beaten, and imprisoned. If everyone comes out—a great deal can change. History remembers examples. Right now this war is happening with our silent consent. We are afraid to protest. Afraid to speak out. Afraid to take responsibility. If we swallow this silently—what happens next? P.S. I hope that among those reading this, there are enough brave and decent people. I believe in you. And I cannot not go there.

That evening, he was detained at the anti-war rally and subsequently convicted. In March 2022, Dmitry and his family left Moscow for Yerevan, later moved to Batumi, and since 2024 has lived in the United States.

Support for Ukraine

Dmitry Nyuberg openly speaks out against the war and supports Ukrainians, affirming that they have every right to defend their homes and families. In his videos, he debunks Kremlin propaganda, criticizes mobilization, and demonstrates that it was the Russian government that launched an unprovoked invasion. In addition, Nyuberg supports Ukrainian musicians by producing video analyses of their work and helping their art reach new audiences.

Conflicts

In March 2023, Dmitry Nyuberg published a video highlighting anti-Ukrainian remarks by Gleb Viktorov, frontman of Three Days of Rain. In response, Viktorov and his producer began threatening him with violence, and the blogger began receiving death threats on behalf of PMC Wagner, attempting to extort 2 million rubles under threat of murdering his family.

Viktorov was supported by Serafim Mukka, playingtheangel, aikko, and the record labels Rhymes Music and IZBA, who attempted through lawyers to have Nyuberg's channel taken down, but failed.

Speaking out in Dmitry's defense were Loqiemean, JesusAVGN, Stint, Anton Pikuli, and others. Later, Stas "Ay, Kak Prosto!" joined the harassment campaign against the blogger, but his attempts also failed to bring about the channel's termination.
