Pavel Volya is a Russian stand-up entertainer, TV presenter, film actor, and resident of Comedy Club. Born on March 14, 1979, in Penza. Married since September 2012 to world and European champion in rhythmic gymnastics Laysan Utiasheva.

The position of Pavel Volya on the war in Ukraine
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale assault on Ukraine, Pavel Volya chose a stance of keeping silent about the military aggression. All the artist managed to publish on the matter was a neutral Instagram post stating:
People are the most important thing. We all need peace!

For some time, he kept a low profile and showed no media activity; later, on March 18, 2022, he published a post on his Telegram channel (dedicated to raising money for the treatment of children with cancer):
Right now one thing is clear: the most important thing is people, and more than ever people need to hold on to people. Not argue, not prove your points of view, but help. Only helping can lead to something good. Therefore, in the near future I suggest focusing on precisely that. Maybe that's what the social networks we have left are for?...
Currently, Volya continues to tour Russian cities with his stand-up concerts, hosts shows on pro-Kremlin TV channels, and writes propaganda humor "to the tune of Gazprom-Media".
Humor in the service of propaganda
Although Volya avoids direct Z-symbolism, his humor has transformed to serve the political agenda. From the Comedy Club stage, he began openly mocking colleagues and Russians who left the country due to disagreement with the war. In his monologues, he scoffs at the «depleted» entertainment industry, presenting emigration as something ridiculous and pathetic, thereby normalizing life in the aggressor state.
There are no stars! These left, those aren't performing... And those who left perform over there in such a way that, most likely, they will never come back again.
In addition, Volya launched the project «Shou Voli» ("The Volya Show") on the federal TNT channel, which has been called an "untalented copy" of "Evening Urgant". The program exclusively features "convenient" guests and active supporters of the war. Among them:
- Dmitry Dyuzhev — an actor with an aggressive Z-stance;
- Artemy Lebedev — a propagandist;
- Natalya Popova — a TV presenter and close friend of Katerina Tikhonova (Vladimir Putin's daughter), demonstrating direct ties between the show and the dictator's inner circle.
Despite claims that "humor knows no borders," Volya's jokes have become fully synchronized with state ideology. The comedian transmits narratives about the «decaying West» and the grandeur of Russian weaponry:
And also at the G20 summit everyone recognized that Crimea is ours! Recognized that Crimea is ours!
Let's give our weapons scarier names... The submarine «Scum», the aircraft carrier «Vermin», the anti-tank mine «Louse». So that everyone abroad is terrified...
Volya also actively promotes «traditional values» through sexist jokes, ridiculing feminism and gender freedoms, which fully aligns with the rhetoric of the Russian authorities.
He participated in a propaganda Comedy Club sketch mocking the Russian opposition and the TV channel TV Rain («Dozhd»).
Pavel continues to star extensively in advertisements for Russian brands and marketplaces that replaced departed Western companies, demonstrating through his example that "everything is fine" and business can be conducted as usual.
Thus, his silence and active work on the entertainment frontline constitute a form of tacit consent and legitimization of the Putin regime.
