Aleksandr Bashirov's stance on the war in Ukraine
Stance prior to 2022
In 2014, he traveled to the Donbas, where he filmed a movie tentatively titled "Donbas Knocks on Our Heart."
I would like to release it [the picture] as soon as possible, but my studio is low-budget. We are scraping everything together bit by bit, drop by drop. Doing everything on our own, with great difficulty, against all odds. But I am confident that we will edit it and we will win, because whoever is against Russia is against humanity.
He commented on the military actions in the Donbas as follows:
A struggle is taking place there for the right to be oneself, to be an individual, to have one's own future. And for that, I believe, everything exists. Overall, I believe that for a modern person, for an individual, the main thing is what is happening in the Donbas; right now, the question of the survival of all humanity is being decided there... I think the war will last another three years, these are all tactical moments, surviving the winter and all that. But then America and all this ephemeral so-called civilization will collapse. All of it will burst like a soap bubble, and a normal, creative life will begin.
On Ukraine's sanction lists
In August 2014, he was added to the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for aiding illegal armed formations, illegally crossing the State Border of Ukraine, and smuggling commercial goods.
In 2018, by decision of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Bashirov was included in the list of individuals "posing a threat to the national security of the country."
Trip to the Donbas in May 2022
In May 2022, Bashirov visited the Donbas, which was confirmed on his Telegram channel by propagandist Zakhar Prilepin:

Bashirov's statements about the war
We must protect our own, and if someone threatens our people, we are obligated to respond. This is our land and our people, and we cannot stand aside.
The West has always wanted to weaken Russia, and right now they are using Ukraine as a tool in this struggle. We must remain united and not allow them to achieve their goal.
I believe that truth is on our side. We are defending our interests, and no one has the right to dictate to us how to live and what to do.
Aleksandr Bashirov's stance on the war in Ukraine represents open and hardcore support for Russian military aggression, active participation in propaganda in the occupied territories, as well as the cultural rationalization and justification of the war.
