Vladimir Vdovichenkov is a Russian theater and film actor, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. He gained widespread popularity following his roles in cult projects «Brigada» («Law of the Lawless») and «Boomer». He was born on August 13, 1971, in the town of Gusev (Kaliningrad Oblast). Since 2002, he has been an actor with the troupe of the Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre.

In 2018, Vladimir Vdovichenkov was added to the database of the «Myrotvorets» website. The reason was a deliberate violation of Ukraine's state border to enter Russian-occupied Crimea, as well as participation in propaganda events organized by the aggressor state aimed at legalizing the annexation of the peninsula.
Also noteworthy is his role as the Russian president in the film «August Eighth» (2012), which is regarded in Ukraine as propaganda content justifying Russian aggression against Georgia.
Vladimir Vdovichenkov's stance on the war in Ukraine
Following the outbreak of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Vdovichenkov initially chose a stance of silence. However, he subsequently supported the war.
In September 2024, a video appeal by Vdovichenkov surfaced online ahead of the pro-Kremlin concert «Russia, Donbas, Novorossiya: Together Forever!» on Red Square. He addressed members of the «Veterans» reconnaissance and assault brigade and other units of the Russian army directly. In his address, the actor expressed gratitude to the invaders:
Thank you, guys. Out there on the front line, you are doing what allows us here to sleep peacefully, raise children, and make plans. We are not afraid for tomorrow thanks to you. Victory will come soon — of that I am certain
At this concert, Vdovichenkov recited the poem «It Takes Eight Years to Drive Home», dedicated to the «heroes» who «defend» the Motherland on the front lines.
Thus, despite the absence of active political involvement in the past, under conditions of full-scale war Vladimir Vdovichenkov sided with the aggressor, supporting the murder of Ukrainians and the occupation of Ukrainian territories through his public statements.
