Kanye West's stance on the war in Ukraine
Instagram post featuring the Ukrainian flag
In early March 2022, Kanye West cleared his Instagram account with 15 million followers and posted the flag of Ukraine featuring a dove symbolizing peace. This post was a screenshot of a text message exchange with Demna Gvasalia, creative director of fashion house Balenciaga, who supports Ukrainians.

After some time, the post was deleted.
Support for Putin
In a 2021 interview, he compared himself to a "young Putin":
I am young Putin. I realized that I was like Vladimir when I realized that culture is oil. Culture is energy. And I've been the king of culture for the past 20 years and will continue to be for the next 2,000 years.
In December 2022, Kanye West was a guest on the InfoWars internet show hosted by American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. During the broadcast, one of the show's participants, far-right activist Nick Fuentes, stated that he considered himself "pro-Putin and pro-Russia", to which West directly replied: "I am as well."

In that same scandalous interview, the rapper made a series of shocking statements expressing sympathy for Adolf Hitler, which led to worldwide condemnation and the suspension of his social media accounts.
Mentions of Ukraine and Russia in tracks
In late 2023, Kanye West, in collaboration with rapper Ty Dolla $ign, released the track "Vultures", which mentions both Russia and Ukraine. The song contained the line:
She wants me to put some of this coke in her butt / ugh she Russian / I beat up the pussy for Ukraine
West himself did not publicly explain the intended meaning.
In 2025, in an updated version of the track "WE DID IT", Kanye West mentioned Ukraine in a positive context. The song featured the lines:
Pray for the innocent / The Ukraine and its citizens».
At the same time, in the original version of the composition released in 2022 on the album DONDA 2, these lines were absent.
Visit to Moscow in 2024
In June 2024, Kanye West unexpectedly arrived in Moscow. This caused huge excitement across Russian media, which tried to present the American star's visit as breaking international isolation.
The purpose of the rapper's visit was to celebrate the birthday of his friend, Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, who had been appointed head of design at West's Yeezy brand.
Concerts in Russia (2026)
In the summer of 2026, promoters SAY Agency announced two YE concerts — on October 10 and 11 at Gazprom Arena stadium in Saint Petersburg.

According to media reports, the concert was not approved by Russian authorities and was eventually canceled following "a call from above".
Performances by a global superstar in Russia during wartime effectively help legitimize the aggressor state in the eyes of a global audience, projecting an image that Russia is not internationally isolated and can freely host major Western artists.
Kanye West has rarely commented on the war in Ukraine, but publicly declaring sympathy for Putin and agreeing to hold major concerts in Russia during the war testify to factual support for the aggressor country and its political course.
Закинули бы в спорных, все таки положительные моменты есть

Где он сошел с ума?
Употребление артикля "the" с "Ukraine" является ошибкой, т.к. пренебрегает независимостью Украины
