Leonid Yakubovich is a Russian television presenter, actor, screenwriter, writer, and producer. Longtime host of the television quiz show "Pole Chudes" ("Field of Wonders"). Member of the "United Russia" party since 2004. In 2012 and 2018, he was registered as an authorized representative of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin. Born on July 31, 1945, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, USSR.

In August 2017, he was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" center for deliberate violation of the state border of Ukraine in order to enter the territory of Russian-occupied Crimea.
Since January 7, 2023, he has been under NSDC sanctions for anti-Ukrainian activities (supporting the Russian Federation's recognition of the so-called "LPR" and "DPR").
Following the outbreak of the war in 2014, Yakubovich spoke about the military conflict rather neutrally, mentioning the fraternity of nations, etc. In 2015, he made a statement in an interview:
I cannot even fathom which shelf I should place this on, in order to nail a big stencil saying «These are enemies» to that shelf. How can I do that? I will never be able to do that
Leonid Yakubovich's stance on the war in Ukraine
Following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he supported the military operations, speaking about fascism in Ukraine (interview on the show "Antonyms"):
If there is a neighboring state... that has recognized fascism as a loyal factor of its biography, then one must somehow fight it... You can negotiate something with people who realize that there will be no winners. But apparently, that entire mob on the other side could at any second turn around and «strike» our territory…
Regarding the so-called DPR and LPR: «It's difficult to predict here. Events are developing so rapidly. Recognition of the entities is not enough. To recognize means to conclude a military cooperation agreement. I think that ultimately it will be like Crimea, part of the territory. That is what I think.
