«Voskresenie» is a Soviet and Russian rock band formed in 1979. Leader: Alexey Romanov (1979–1982, 1994 – present), Konstantin Nikolsky (1980–1982). Genre: rock with elements of blues, psychedelic rock, art rock, as well as country and rock and roll.
Prior to the outbreak of the war, there were internal conflicts within the band regarding the situation with Crimea. In 2016, band member Andrey Sapunov refused to perform in the occupied territory and left the group.
In July 2017, Romanov was entered into the database of the «Myrotvorets» website for illegal touring activities on the territory of Russian-occupied Crimea and denial of Russian aggression.

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, a post appeared on Alexey Romanov's VKontakte page, along with a brief video address on the band's YouTube channel, conveying a generic message: «May there be peace throughout the world! We are against war!»

In the summer of 2022, Alexey Romanov took part in recording the patriotic track «Ya ostayus» (I Am Staying) as a retort to musicians who had fled Russia. The recording also featured Sergey Shnurov ("Leningrad"), Vladimir Shakhrin ("Chaif"), Aleksandr F. Sklyar ("Va-Bankъ"), Sergey Galanin ("SerGa"), Sergey 'Chizh' Chigrakov ("Chizh & Co"), Evgeny Margulis ("Mashina Vremeni"), Andrey Knyazev ("Knyazz", "Korol i Shut"), Aya ("Gorod 312"), Masha Makarova ("Masha i Medvedi"), Vladimir and Sergey Kristovsky ("Uma2rmaH"), Maksim Kucherenko ("Undervud"), and others.
On January 7, 2023, Romanov was included in Ukraine's sanctions list against individuals «who publicly call for an aggressive war, justify and legitimize the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territory». Sanctions entail asset freezes within Ukraine, suspension of economic and financial obligations, termination of cultural exchanges and cooperation, and revocation of Ukrainian state honors.
The band «Voskresenie» continues its active concert touring schedule throughout Russia.
