Wylsacom (real name Valentin Petukhov) is a Russian video blogger, tech reviewer, consumer tech specialist, and former lawyer. He is one of the most popular and wealthy video bloggers in the Russian-language segment of YouTube. He was born on July 6, 1985, in Moscow, USSR.

Wylsacom's Stance on the War in Ukraine
On February 24, 2022, Wylsacom recorded an anti-war video address to his subscribers. The video trended on Russian-language YouTube:
I want to believe that the majority of our audience are reasonable people who understand that what is happening right now cannot be described with printable words <...> What is happening right now are the actions of one single person — President Putin, whom I personally did not elect, and whose actions we do not support <...> Today, producing entertainment content is not just difficult, it is impossible. I have never felt so bad in my entire life… what is happening right now shocked me to the core <...> I woke up completely shellshocked. <...> I don't know what to say, but remaining silent is also impossible. I hope that everyone involved will sit down at the negotiating table as quickly as possible. No to war.
In December 2023, Wylsacom reaffirmed his stance, explained why he has no plans to leave Russia, and claimed he had not deleted the anti-war video from his channel (as of now, the video is hidden and cannot be viewed):
I spoke out exactly on February 24 [2022], the video is still up on the channel — that is a matter of great pride for us. Unlike many others, I didn't delete anything. I said what I felt, and there's nothing in there to be ashamed of or that needs to be deleted. I simply stated that I don't support this and don't want to be associated with it in any way, but on my part I can't do anything either...
This is my country. Why should I leave? Disconnected from the birch trees, it's very difficult to feel the sentiments inside here. You simply don't feel the beat, you don't feel the nerve, you don't understand what needs to be said to connect with people's emotions.
Under Putin, life right now is generally normal overall. Of course, one would wish everything was somewhat different. At the very least, that there was no SMO and the rest. All of this is terrible; it must in no way be supported. But at the same time, life must go on.
Despite his statements against the Russian authorities, Valentin Petukhov took part in a collaboration with the state corporation "Roscosmos."
The blogger hid his anti-war posts and videos.
Advertising the MAX Messenger
In September 2025, he promoted the pro-government messenger Max by VK, a tool designed for total digital surveillance. The app's privacy policy explicitly states that user data may be shared with "company partners," as well as "any state authority or local self-government body."
On the Direct Line with Putin
On December 19, 2025, during Vladimir Putin's Direct Line broadcast, Wylsacom asked the Russian president how important the creation of the Russian messenger MAX was and whether it would be able to compete with other platforms. He also invited Putin to subscribe to his tech channel on MAX.
Wylsacom's interaction with Putin was neither an accident nor an ordinary "working moment." He deliberately played the role of a convenient systemic influencer legitimizing the state-controlled messenger and the regime itself. Instead of an independent position — compliant questions, PR for MAX, and a public display of loyalty. Effectively, he integrated himself into the Russian propaganda circle and earns handsomely there. Put simply, he sold out — for comfort, money, and the ability to continue working undisturbed.
"Ну иди поздравь в Макс, Иуда! Ответ Путина тут особого значения не имеет, потому что он вообще ничего не понимает в технологиях, как в принципе, и во всем остальном. Но вот два брата-акробата: Ян Топлес, который недавно ***иганул и Валентин Петухов, который пошел рекламировать Макс, это отдельное позорище. Сколько денег вам нужно? И какие части тела вы готовы за это продать? Вопрос открытый..." - Майкл Наки
