Yuriy Borisov, better known as Yura Borisov, is a Russian theater, film, and television actor. The first Russian actor nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. He starred in the American comedy-drama "Anora," whose plot is closely intertwined with Russian culture and the USSR. Born on December 8, 1992, in Reutov, Moscow Oblast.

In 2019, in an interview with Yury Dud, the actor stated that he supported defendants in the "Moscow case" (participants in the "For Fair Elections" protests), including Egor Zhukov:

He participated in filming the propaganda movie "Kalashnikov" in the territory of occupied Crimea (2019–2020).
In May 2020, he was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for deliberate violation of the state border of Ukraine to enter Crimea seized by Russian occupiers.

Anti-war letter on the first day of the invasion
Following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Borisov signed an open anti-war letter by the Russian Cinematographers' Union published on February 24, 2022:
We received the news of the start of Russia's military actions against Ukraine with grief and anger. No national, political, or geopolitical values can be more important than the paramount and fundamental one — the value of human life. We demand an immediate halt to the legalized murder of human by human, the name of which is WAR
Stance of silence
Shortly thereafter, Borisov deleted all his social media profiles and adopted a stance of silence, continuing his career in Russia.
