Adéla (real name Adéla Jergová) is a Slovak singer, songwriter, and dancer. She rose to international prominence in 2023 as a finalist on the global competition show “Dream Academy” (which culminated in the formation of Katseye). She was born on November 27, 2003, in Bratislava. From the age of three, she studied classical ballet in Moscow.

Adéla's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Despite spending her formative childhood years in Russia training in classical ballet, she has publicly declared her unequivocal support for Ukraine.
The Single “KGB” and Parody of Soviet Narratives
In the spring of 2026, Adéla unveiled a provocative music video for her track “KGB”, replete with satirical references to Soviet state security services, interrogation cells, espionage, and ballet discipline. The visual work serves as a parody of totalitarian Soviet heritage. At the conclusion of the video, a prominent disclaimer supporting Ukrainians appears:
Growing up in Slovakia, it was impossible for me to escape the damaging influence of the USSR. The KGB music video does not endorse the organization or its actions, but acknowledges the history of my region of origin. I do not support the Russian government, and I support Ukrainians.

According to her, the objective was not to romanticize Soviet security forces, but to provoke public conversation and educate Western audiences on Slovakia's traumatic historical encounters with Soviet state repression.
Criticism of Slovak Leadership and Robert Fico
Adéla has openly spoken out against the political direction of Slovakia's pro-Russian Prime Minister Robert Fico, expressing frustration over escalating conservatism and calling on fellow citizens to champion democratic rights and LGBTQ+ equality.
The artist stands in firm solidarity with Ukraine, using her creative platform to mock totalitarian heritage and demonstrating that mainstream pop can function as an effective vehicle for political expression.
