Azazin Kreet (Roman Belousov) is a popular Russian-speaking video blogger, streamer, and Let's Player. He was born and has lived his entire life in Russia, but has Ukrainian roots: his parents and grandmother are Ukrainian, and he spent a significant part of his childhood in Ukraine (in the Carpathians) when visiting his grandmother for the summer.
Azazin Kreet's position on the war in Ukraine
Following the outbreak of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Azazin Kreet took a stance of silence, without publishing open anti-war manifestos, speaking out in support of the so-called "SMO", or commenting in any way on the actions of the Russian or Ukrainian armies.
However, on personal livestreams, Azazin partially voiced his attitude toward what was happening. Roman shared that his Ukrainian relatives were right now in the combat zone and told him stories of how young children hear explosions and are afraid to go outside.
Commenting on the war itself, Belousov stated bluntly:
I have a f**king terrible attitude toward war. I have a f**king terrible attitude toward when civilians suffer during any kind of actions.
It is difficult for him to justify what is happening, but he cannot openly and thoroughly discuss such topics on YouTube because of the safety of his loved ones:
I cannot discuss such things, understand for yourselves... on the other hand, my relatives are, you understand where.
In Roman's opinion, wars begin and end by the decision of a few empowered people (politicians), whom he characterized in extremely harsh and profane terms, accusing them of cowardice. Summarizing his reasoning, the streamer voiced a position of being "for everything good and against everything bad."
Refusal to discuss politics
Subsequently, Azazin Kreet began to completely refuse any public discussion of politics, which could be clearly seen during his collaborative stream with blogger Kasha. When the topic came up of a possible joint project (collaboration) with anti-war streamer JesusAVGN, Azazin bluntly stated that he flatly refused to talk about geopolitics and Ukraine:
...I know too little about him, but I don't know, he'll start suffocating me with bullshit about Ukraine. If someone, f**k, talks about politics nonstop without shutting up, I don't get in touch with them at all. I don't give a f**k whether he's a Z-patriot or a liberal... I just don't want to talk about politics, it's so mind-numbing... If we could collaborate without politics — which, apparently, is impossible to do — then in principle it's possible, why not...
Emigration from Russia
In 2024, Roman Belousov decided to move to Costa Rica, choosing the lifestyle of an "eternal tourist" through visa runs. On his streams, the streamer admitted that he has no plans to return to the Russian Federation, as he has fully adjusted to the local positive rhythm of life and values the peace he found.
Commenting on his departure, Azazin Kreet also spoke out sharply against potential emigration to the US, characterizing America as a "second Russia" due to what he perceives as a similar level of aggression in society and a lack of genuine internal freedom. The blogger described his main goal in the new place solely as living a "chill" and peaceful life free from geopolitical upheaval, where he can focus on creative work, reading books, and streaming.
