Trips to occupied territories

The primary «achievement» in his career as a propagandist was the film «Donbas Diary», released on October 7, 2022. In it, as in other videos, Vasilyev whitewashes the reputation of the occupiers, demonizes Ukraine, and justifies the invasion. The blogger also posted photos against stele landmarks in occupied Luhansk and Donetsk.

Fundraising for the Russian army

Vasilyev has repeatedly engaged in financial support for the Russian invading forces. During one broadcast, he announced a fundraiser of 150,000 rubles supposedly for «humanitarian aid» to hospitals in the «DPR». Ultimately, nearly 2 million rubles were raised, which, according to fundraising screenshots, went to aid wounded Russian soldiers rather than civilian needs.

Harassment and denunciations

The blogger actively leverages his media resources to persecute colleagues with anti-war stances:

• Aleksandr Shtefanov: Vasilyev orchestrated a harassment campaign, offering to arrange a trip to Donbas for him, effectively confirming his ties with Russian authorities.

• JesusAVGN: He organized harassment against the streamer, wrote public denunciations, and succeeded in getting his advertising contracts terminated in Russia.

• Loqiemean: He was responsible for the cancellation of concerts of the rapper and the subsequent removal of his music catalog due to denunciations.

Work for state media

In December 2022, YouTube banned all of Vasilyev's channels (the main one had 1.5 million subscribers) for violating its hate speech policy and videos about Ukraine.

In March 2023, propagandist Vladimir Solovyov invited Vasilyev to the «Solovyov Live» broadcast, where he was granted his own segment, «Stas Live». Since August 2024, he has also hosted his own show on state-run Radio Sputnik.

In 2026, an attempt to return to the YouTube platform also ended in the blocking of his new channel.

Promoting Kremlin narratives on TikTok and YouTube

In his short videos, Vasilyev systematically:

• Calls Ukraine a «bargaining chip» and the «SMO» a disgrace for NATO forces.
• Declares that Russia «must not stop the war» on any terms other than Moscow's. He claimed that from the first days of the war, he supported stopping hostilities exclusively on Russia's terms (which include the occupation of Ukrainian territories and numerous other absurd demands).
• Asserts that Russia does not strike civilians. In reality, through these words he denies the massacre of civilians in Bucha, the strike on Okhmatdyt, the bombing of the Mariupol Drama Theater, and many other daily Russian war crimes.
• Justifies the occupation of Crimea and the creation of the «DPR».
• Discredits Ukrainian literature.
• Spreads propaganda narratives about the President of Ukraine, as well as claims that Ukraine has allegedly lost half of its population. Both videos discredit the President of Ukraine and serve propaganda objectives.
• Condemned the actions of anti-war singer «Naoko» for performing covers of anti-war artists and refusing to perform for «SMO» soldiers. He directly criticized musician Noize MC for wearing a T-shirt with the symbol of the Azov Regiment and labeled Ukrainians «neo-Nazis».
• Supported the renaming of Ukrainian cities and settlements by Russian «Yandex» on «Yandex Maps». In effect, he endorsed the Russian eradication of Ukrainian symbols and Ukrainian place names in occupied territories.
• Supported the «United Russia» party and called for banning all other political parties.

Stas Vasilyev went from being a tech blogger to becoming a full-fledged «Solovyov for youth», adapting aggressive Kremlin propaganda to youth-oriented formats. The blogger does not merely broadcast falsehoods, but directly participates in the aggression: raising millions for occupying forces, producing apologetic videos in devastated Donbas, and professionally orchestrating denunciations to destroy the careers of colleagues with anti-war views.
