Konstantin Bogomolov is a Russian theater and film director, poet, and artistic director of the Malaya Bronnaya Theatre. Known to the broader public also as the husband of TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak. In 2024, he assumed leadership of the Roman Viktyuk Theatre, and in 2025 was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation." Born on July 23, 1975, in Moscow.

Prior to 2022, Bogomolov began drifting away from his previous image as a liberal theater director. In February 2021, he published a manifesto titled "The Abduction of Europe 2.0," in which he sharply attacked Western liberal values:
The contemporary West is a new ethical Reich... Russia is at the tail end of this crazy train, and we must uncouple our carriage. We need to rebuild our own civilization from scratch.
During that period, he openly endorsed the Moscow city administration and claimed that Russia enjoys "healthy freedom" in contrast to "Western censorship of the new ethics."
Bogomolov's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following February 24, 2022, Konstantin Bogomolov remained in Russia and firmly aligned himself with the state, portraying the unfolding events as a historic opportunity for the country.
In May 2023, in his essay "Dietary Grief" (criticizing the Russian cultural elite for mourning their pre-war lifestyle), he called for a definitive break with the past:
In February 2022, the past died irrevocably. The train of history switched to different tracks. It is time to leave behind the suffering and discard contempt for one's own country. The present contains meaning, purpose, and truth. One must hear the roar of history and the voice of the people, because their opinion matters.
In July 2025, he termed the war "a stroke of luck for our generation":
We are incredibly fortunate to live in this era. Fortunate because the value of tinsel has plummeted. The glossy veneer has shrunk, the false significance of trivial things has vanished. We found ourselves in a situation where everyone must make their choice, and this purifies society.
He also made several high-profile remarks during an evening broadcast of "Vesti" on the state channel "Rossiya 1":
Of course, I follow [the situation in the «SMO» combat zone]. Far too much is being decided there for our country and the world, not to mention what a monumental and heroic story it is
We are beginning to live in an important historical period, and it is vital to make a choice — where you stand, and with whom you stand
After all, I worked over there (editor's note: in the West) and directed more than one production. And I observed all of it: the concentration of a bizarre totalitarian atmosphere, the imposition of predetermined viewpoints
In January 2026, in an interview with Russian media, the director voiced complete confidence in Russia's military victory and emphasized the role of culture in the process:
I absolutely believe that we will win. Because we are in the right. We are defending not only our country, but also those values that constitute the foundation of human existence. The very values that make a human being human
He continues staging theatrical productions in Moscow, underscoring that culture in a time of war must serve the strategic interests of its state.
