Alsou (Alsou Abramova, née Safina) is a Russian singer, TV presenter, and actress. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan. Born in 1983 in Bugulma (Tatar ASSR). Represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000, finishing in second place. Holds both Russian and British citizenship.

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
Prior to 2022, the singer sought to maintain an "apolitical" public persona; however, she repeatedly visited occupied Crimea in violation of Ukrainian legislation. For deliberate violation of the state border of Ukraine in order to enter Russian-occupied Crimea and participating in Russian propaganda events, Alsou was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website.
Alsou's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following the launch of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Alsou adopted a strategy of public silence. She did not condemn the Kremlin's armed aggression and did not call for an end to the war.
Instead of voicing anti-war statements, the artist continued active concert activities across Russia and participated in high-profile entertainment projects on federal television networks, which serve as the primary mouthpieces of Russian state propaganda. Specifically, she continues collaborating with the NTV channel, broadcasting her concerts to mass audiences.
In April 2022, Alsou performed at a propaganda concert dedicated to Victory Day in Moscow.
Performing Before "SMO" Combatants
Since 2023, Alsou has participated in the filming of the "Goluboy Ogonyok" New Year's special on state channel "Rossiya-1", where the principal honored guests are participants of the "SMO" (Special Military Operation). Performing in such a setting directly incorporates the artist into the state propaganda apparatus that glorifies the war. Even without making outspoken political speeches on stage, entertaining military occupiers represents a conscious choice in favor of endorsing Russian aggression.
She is registered with Roskomnadzor via Gosuslugi. This signifies that the Russian state officially monitors and regulates her activities.
