Scally Milano (Daniil Dmitriev) is a Russian rapper and one of the most prominent pioneers of the "scam rap" subgenre in Russia. Born in 2002 in Berezniki (Perm Krai).
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In March 2025, he was listed in the database of the Mirotvorets website for propagating war, Russian fascism, and Nazism, and publicly supporting Russian armed aggression and the slaughter of Ukrainian citizens.
Scally Milano's stance on the war in Ukraine
Until the spring of 2023, the rapper publicly avoided expressing a definitive political stance; however, in April 2023, his relationship to the war became the subject of police harassment and court proceedings. The catalyst was a concert in Saint Petersburg that was violently raided and shut down by Russian law enforcement.
Video footage from the concert circulated widely on social media, showing Scally Milano (or the crowd chanting alongside him) roaring the slogan: "F*** the war!". In June 2023, the Leninsky District Court of Saint Petersburg found the musician guilty of "discrediting" the Russian military (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) and fined him 40,000 rubles.
Conflict with Mizulina and departure to Dubai
Following the disruption of the concert on April 22, 2023, Ekaterina Mizulina, head of the "Safe Internet League," accused the rapper not only of promoting narcotics, but also of speaking out against the "special military operation" (SVO). Fearing criminal prosecution, Daniil fled Russia and flew to Dubai.
However, the artist's tone soon underwent a radical reversal. Yearning to return to Russia and salvage his commercial career, he struck a deal with state authorities. Scally Milano published a lengthy apologetic manifesto, stating:
I never aimed to offend anyone through my art... I have realized my mistakes and am prepared to reconsider my artistic approach.
Addressing the anti-war allegations, he defended himself:
Throughout the entire year, I never spoke out against the SVO; on the contrary, I stated that I love the country that gave me life. I love my motherland, regardless of how it might appear to anyone else. That is a fact.
Return and censorship
Following public apologies and promises to purge tracks referencing drugs, the rapper returned to Russia. He met personally with Ekaterina Mizulina and published a joint photo, which many fans viewed as an outright surrender to Kremlin censorship.
Concerts in Crimea
In November 2025, Scally Milano performed in occupied Simferopol—a violation of international law and Ukrainian legislation, which serves to legitimize the Russian occupation of Crimea.
The rapper also published a photo from occupied Sevastopol, demonstratively wrapping himself in a Russian tricolor flag.
Currently, Scally Milano continues to tour across Russia while strictly complying with state censorship guidelines, entirely avoiding critical statements regarding the authorities or the war, and effectively accepting the regime's terms to protect his earnings.
