Zhmil's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Pro-Kremlin Position Prior to the Full-Scale War
In March 2020, he was entered into the database of the Myrotvorets website for Ukrainophobia, propaganda of war, and Russian fascism and Nazism.
Even before the full-scale invasion, Zhmilevsky actively broadcast pro-Kremlin talking points. In February 2022, he publicly celebrated Putin's speech recognizing the so-called "LPR" and "DPR". In his interviews, he repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, echoing official Kremlin rhetoric.
The blogger also expressed opinions regarding the 2014 events in Ukraine, labeling the Revolution of Dignity a "crime" and expressing support for the regime of Viktor Yanukovych.
Support for the Russian Invasion
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Vladislav Zhmilevsky adopted an overtly aggressive stance. On February 28, 2022, his Twitch channel was banned for displaying military hostilities and organizing fundraisers for the Russian Armed Forces. On his streams, he openly threatened the annihilation of the Ukrainian state and flaunted Z-symbolism:
They (Ukrainians) understand perfectly well that they will soon be destroyed. We will arrive in tanks and hang this very flag... I personally will bring this flag to Kyiv, hang it over the Verkhovna Rada building, and shout: «Kyiv is ours!
Propaganda and Justification of War Crimes
Across social media networks and his "Karelian Balsam" channel, Zhmilevsky and his team systematically justify Russian military actions and war crimes:
- Justified the bombing of the Drama Theater in Mariupol, branding reports of sheltering civilians "lies"
- Disseminated propaganda videos justifying the mass murder of civilians in Bucha
- Denied Russian responsibility for the missile strike on the "Okhmatdyt" children's hospital
- Endorsed the seizure and devastation of Ukrainian cities, particularly Mariupol and Bakhmut
- Filed a public denunciation against anti-war streamer JesusAVGN during an interview with Stas "Ay Kak Prosto"
Zhmilevsky also regularly directs slurs and abuse toward the Ukrainian people and their president. In March 2025, he congratulated subscribers on the "Day of Crimea's Reunification with Russia," and in August 2025 appeared as an invited guest on a broadcast of the "Solovyov LIVE" channel.
Fundraising for the Russian Army and State Awards
Vladislav Zhmilevsky actively participates in the material supply of the occupying forces. He has spearheaded numerous fundraising drives:
- November 2022: Fundraiser for the units commanded by convicted war criminal Igor Girkin (Strelkov)
- May 2023: Raised 400,000 rubles for communications equipment for the 15th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces
- July 2023: Raised 601,000 rubles to procure drones for Russian troops
- February 2024: Raised 759,000 rubles for military drones and components
- September 2025: Received the official state medal "For Assisting the Front" from the Russian government
- 2026: Fundraiser for reconnaissance and strike drones for units attacking Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast.
Vladislav Zhmilevsky is an active participant in Russian military aggression who does not restrict himself to propaganda broadcasts, but directly finances the occupying army. His regular procurement of combat equipment and drones for the Russian military, public calls for conquering Ukrainian cities, and official state medals confirm his role as an ardent backer of the war.
