Nargiz's stance on the war in Ukraine

Unlawful visit to Crimea

In 2015, violating Ukrainian legislation, the singer performed in Russian-occupied Yalta at a "Russia Day" concert. Subsequently, she also toured Crimea for concerts.

In 2017, Nargiz was banned from entering Ukraine for touring in Crimea and supporting Putin's policies toward Ukraine and Crimea. The singer was also added to the database of the "Myrotvorets" website.

Anti-war statements

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Nargiz took an open anti-war stance. In March 2022, the singer published an Instagram post sharing her pain over the unfolding events:

The feeling of unending war leaves no space for creativity and creation. I catch myself thinking that from an artist I have unwillingly transformed into a warrior. For several agonizing days, I have found no peace. As if the ground has slipped from beneath my feet... #NotASoldier #IStandForLove #NoToWar #StandWithUkraine

In April 2022, on her Telegram channel, the singer wrote:

Hands off Ukraine! Cursed be all who k**l, destroy, r**e, and rob the Ukrainian people! No to war! Glory to Ukraine!

Following this, the singer left Russia and returned to her homeland in Uzbekistan, stating that it was impossible to continue artistic work in the aggressor country.

50-year ban on entering Russia

In May 2022, upon attempting to fly to Moscow from Tashkent, Nargiz was detained by FSB officers at Domodedovo Airport. Russian authorities served the artist with an official notice banning her from entering the Russian Federation until May 2072. The grounds for her deportation and sanctions were her regular anti-war statements and criticism of the Russian leadership's policies.

Support for Ukraine

Ukrainian symbols

After leaving Russia, Nargiz continued publicly supporting Ukraine. In July 2022, at a concert in Tashkent, she performed "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna" and proclaimed "Slava Ukraini!" from the stage.

Later, the singer got a tattoo of the Ukrainian Tryzub (coat of arms), and in 2024 published a video showing a tattoo of Stepan Bandera against the background of the UPA flag.

Donations to the AFU

In November 2023, during a conversation with pranksters Vovan and Lexus, Nargiz stated that she had transferred money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She also described herself as a patriot of the United States and stated that she perceives the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as a "personal war".

Conflict with Z-artists

In the summer of 2023, Nargiz sharply criticized Russian pro-Kremlin performers who continued touring Central Asian countries:

Why are all of you in such an uproar? I repeat once again: go and support your occupying soldiers with your songs. To Donbas or Bakhmut. Why are you all barging into Tashkent? Don't come here to us! Go support your or*s!

Nargiz completely severed ties with Russian show business to preserve her anti-war convictions and has consistently actively supported Ukraine's sovereignty to this day.

Celebrities on Nargiz's stance

Good riddance to her! There's no point talking nonsense, you have to think about what you say, use your head, and generally be accountable for what you do. Let her sit in Uzbekistan and think a little. This should be a lesson to her! But it's odd why she's in Uzbekistan; I know she is a US citizen.

Sergey Sosedov (Russian critic)Sergey Sosedov

A person who is a US citizen, living in Uzbekistan, earning money in Russia, steps on the gas against Russia in support of unfriendly countries. Is that humane?

Iosif Prigozhin (Russian producer)Iosif Prigozhin

Nargiz doesn't even need vocal cords to blab. And to turn on someone she was flattering and groveling before just yesterday, she doesn't need a conscience either.
