Nerkin's stance on the war in Ukraine

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Nerkin published a video on his Telegram channel urging everyone not to remain silent and to stop the war. Later, he clarified:

I turned off comments; I don't need your flame wars here. This video was recorded on February 24 and uploaded the very same day. At that moment, it seemed to me that the orcs could be stopped, that one could appeal to them. That was why I used the phrase «brotherly nations.» If I could cut that out now, I would. Now I no longer think that way; there is no point in trying to prove anything to zombies.

On February 28, 2022, Yuriy shared his distress over his family in Ukraine:

We dreamed of moving to a new apartment, enjoying this moment—but alas, because of the war and messaging my mom every hour: «Mom, is everything okay? Are you alive?», I certainly cannot feel happy or enjoy anything. Overall, things are okay. I pray every day for all of this to end as soon as possible.

On May 8, 2022, on his birthday, the blogger wrote about his only wish:

Yesterday, when blowing out the candles, I made only one single wish, which doesn't even need explaining—everyone already knows it. I am confident it will come true, and everyone who stood for the war and supported it, every orc who caused evil, will get what they deserve.

On May 17, 2022, he once again clearly stated his stance:

...Once again I say, I call things by their proper names. The Russian army invaded Ukraine; they are occupying cities and murdering peaceful civilians who did nothing wrong. They shell cities and civilians while claiming these are military targets. Young children are dying, families are being torn apart. The entire world understands this, except for the zombified hoglins who write to me in comments and emails about «8 years», about us supposedly bombing ourselves, about them «liberating» us, and calling me scum for supporting Ukraine... And thank you to everyone who understands and provides support no matter what. I am certain that Ukraine will win.

On the one-year anniversary of the full-scale invasion, he noted:

A year has passed since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Back then it seemed impossible; now it is a reality that has lasted a year. A real war. Words fail me, I can't find them at all, tears just well up and that's it. I never could have imagined that something like this was even possible in the 21st century. But it turns out anything is possible. I understand that people will unsubscribe after a post like this, but honestly, that's probably for the best. I believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in Ukraine; peace will come, and those responsible will be punished to the fullest extent.

These posts represent only a portion of his statements on the war. While some are even more emotional, the blogger's position remains unequivocal—he openly supports Ukraine and strongly condemns Russian aggression.

Aid to Ukrainians and the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In July 2022, Nerkin announced that he regularly aids the Ukrainian military and charitable foundations:

I still receive questions like: «Have you helped the AFU? Have you donated money?», and the answer is simple—naturally! Many times, very many. Not only to the AFU, but also to various Ukrainian and Polish foundations that help both refugees and the army. I donated money for medical aid, for those very Bayraktars...

He also spoke about a project dedicated to developing the Ukrainian segment of Minecraft:

Right now, I am working on a really cool project concerning Ukraine and the Ukrainian Minecraft community as a whole. For now, I can't share the details—but hopefully, you'll find out very soon... Every Ukrainian who loves Minecraft will enjoy it and have a blast... I'll say one thing—we are taking Ukrainian Minecraft to a new level.

In addition, he hosted charity live streams, donating the proceeds to the "Come Back Alive" foundation.

Although the majority of Nerkin's audience is based in Russia, he is not afraid of losing his viewership and openly speaks the truth about the war while firmly supporting Ukraine.
