Stas Mikhaylov on the war

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.

In September 2014, during the war in eastern Ukraine, Stas Mikhaylov stated that he felt aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin's position regarding that country.

In April 2017, he was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for illegal concert activities on the territory of Russian-occupied Crimea, participation in Russian propaganda events against Ukraine, and other hostile actions.

In 2018, he served as Putin's official election proxy during the presidential election in Russia.

Stas Mikhaylov's Stance on the War in Ukraine

In February 2022, Stas Mikhaylov endorsed the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory, backing his position with classic talking points from Russian state propaganda. On his Instagram page, the singer published the following statement:

Russia has never waged war against Ukraine and never will wage war against the Ukrainian people. Russia is conducting a special operation for demilitarization and denazification. It is liberating our brothers from «people» who cannot govern it, from «people» who are driving it straight into an abyss (...)
At this moment, we all need to unite and support our president, because right now he is going through a very difficult time — virtually the entire «progressive West» has declared war on him, which means on every single one of us as well

Mikhaylov also publicly encouraged Russian soldiers participating in the so-called "special military operation":

God give them help, give them strength. May all return home alive and healthy, brothers! God keep you safe. Strength and patience during these difficult times. We must all stand together

In March 2022, Latvia banned Mikhaylov from entering the country following his vocal support for Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

In the autumn of 2022, he took part in recording the song and propaganda music video "Vstanem".

On October 19, 2022, he was placed on Ukraine's sanctions list targeting individuals "who publicly call for an aggressive war, justify and legitimize the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territory."

In 2024, he once again became an official campaign proxy for Vladimir Putin during the presidential election.

On May 30, 2024, upon receiving the Order of Friendship directly from Putin, he proclaimed:

All power comes from God. God is with you. God is with our country. God is with us. And if God is with us, who can stand against us? We stand right by your side. Victory will be ours
