Aleksandr Rozenbaum supported the war in Ukraine, claiming that the "special military operation" was a necessity prompted by a tragic situation unfolding in the neighboring country. At the same time, he declared his love for Ukraine and profound sympathy for the Ukrainian people.
All of his paternal ancestors originate from Ukraine. Rozenbaum still considers himself a citizen of the Soviet Union and views Ukraine as part of a single, indivisible homeland. Yet he refuses to condemn Russia's assault on Ukraine, believing it to be justified as a means to combat what he brands a "fascist regime in Kyiv."
