Chizh & Co is a Russian rock band formed in the early 1990s by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Sergey Chigrakov, nicknamed "Chizh". The band's last studio album to date was released in 1999.
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In June 2017, Sergey Chigrakov was entered into the Myrotvorets database for deliberate violation of the state border of Ukraine and illegal concert activities in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Chizh & Co's stance on the war in Ukraine
Members of the band "Chizh & Co" did not react in any way to the beginning of the full-scale invasion. On February 24, 2022, the musicians held a major concert in Saint Petersburg dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day.
"Chizh & Co" continues active touring and concert activities across Russia. In June 2023, "Chizh & Co" performed on Palace Square as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum instead of the band "Zveri" (who adhered to an anti-war stance at the time). In August 2023, the band performed at a concert commemorating the patriotic holiday National Flag Day at Luzhniki Stadium.
Sergey "Chizh" Chigrakov participated in recording the music video "I'm Staying" ("Ya ostayus"), which served as a manifesto against all "emigrated" artists who refused to support the Putin regime and participate in the war against Ukraine.
2026 Interview
In February 2026, in an interview with NEWS.ru, Chigrakov answered a question regarding reports that he might be denied entry to tour Europe due to his listing in the "Myrotvorets" database:
And to hell with it really, I couldn't care less. Our country is huge. It is more than enough for me to tour.
He also spoke about how the band's songs support "SMO" soldiers:
Both civilians and military personnel come up after concerts and say that our songs help a lot in the SMO, fighters sing them, some release military-themed albums that include our songs. That is very gratifying.
2026 concerts in Simferopol
For May 2026, the band scheduled a concert in Russian-occupied Simferopol and opened ticket sales. These actions constitute a direct violation of international law and the legislation of Ukraine, and are viewed as legitimizing the Russian occupation of Crimea.
