Distemper is a Russian ska-punk band founded in 1989 in Moscow. The band's lead vocalist is Vyacheslav Biryukov ("Datsent").
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In 2018, they refused to participate in the "Nashestvie" music festival due to the organizers' cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Distemper's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Both before and after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, members of the band "Distemper" made no political statements, adopting a stance of silence.
On February 25, 2024, during a performance at the Alcatraz club, masked security forces stormed in, and the concert was disrupted. Distemper had made no public statements regarding the special military operation, so the exact reasons for the raid remained unclear.
On January 14, 2025, on Distemper's official Telegram channel, the band's drummer Sergey Baibakov on behalf of the group confirmed support for the so-called SMO and provided screenshot proof of financial support donated to the Russian army.

There is this promoter named Vladimir Baranov, nicknamed Kalodya, who is currently organizing concerts for famous punk bands: «Yorsh», Distemper, Poslednie Tanki v Parizhe, Psikheya, and «Affinage». And he is an absolute, 100% Z-supporter, cheering for Putin, railing against liberals and democrats, cheering for killing Ukrainians. But as for him, everything is clear; there are many like him. But why my colleagues collaborate with a fascist and earn money for him is beyond my comprehension...
War is the ultimate test for all people. When I see punks who don't fight against fascism, totalitarianism, who don't stand for freedom, for minorities, who support a society that unleashed an aggressive war against an independent neighboring state, for me that's a reason to write them off completely. I don't want to hear a damn thing about them, all these names: 'Plan Lomonosova', 'Yorsh', Distemper — they just make me laugh. All these festival announcements, their releases, their participation in fascist shindigs led by Kostya Kinchev... All of this just triggers sarcastic smirks from me and the guys from the punk scene. They failed the biggest test of their lives; they totally crapped their pants.
