Gunwest (Ruslan Gominov) is a Kazakh and Russian hip-hop and rap artist. Born on November 11, 1992, in Aktau (Kazakhstan). Rose to prominence thanks to his eccentric persona, extensive facial tattoos, and provocative tracks with distinctive slurred vocals.

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
Gunwest's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Gunwest published a series of emotional posts on his Telegram channel in which he expressed distress regarding the military conflict, while carefully avoiding calling things by their proper names and refraining from directly identifying the aggressor.
The musician asked his subscribers from Ukraine how they were doing, writing:
I want to wake up and know that this was just a dream... My heart and soul are weeping right now.
He also appealed to his audience with an abstract plea: "Please stop"

Activities in the Russian Federation and State Registry
Despite his public distress at the beginning of the invasion, Gunwest has continued active media activities within the territory of the aggressor state. He participates in Russian entertainment projects (such as "What Happened Next?", "By the Way"), completed a stylistic rebranding in a "metal" image, and releases new music targeted at the Russian market.
Gunwest is registered on the "Gosuslugi" portal and entered into the Roskomnadzor (RKN) registry. This signifies that Gominov officially submitted his data to the state, which tracks and regulates the activities of media personalities.
Advertising Alabuga
In January 2026, Gunwest advertised (the video has since been removed) the "Alabuga Polytech" college on his TikTok account, located within the "Alabuga" Special Economic Zone. Since 2023, this facility has been intimately linked to a massive assembly plant for military kamikaze strike drones. The project is included in EU and US sanctions lists for producing weapons for the war against Ukraine, as well as for the exploitation of child labor from underage students and foreign workers. "Alabuga" is an integral component of the Russian military-industrial complex.
