"Gorshenev" or Project "GORSHENEV" is a Russian rock band founded by Alexey Gorshenev following the disbandment of the group "Kukryniksy" in 2018.
Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In June 2017, Alexey Gorshenev was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for denying Russian aggression and participating in propaganda events in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Gorshenev Band's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the members of the band "Gorshenev" adopted a stance of deliberate silence, continuing their concert tour across Russian cities.
In July 2022, they performed at the KKinchevFest 2022 festival. The event's organizer, musician Konstantin Kinchev (band "Alisa"), is well known for his vocal pro-Putin position and open backing of the war in Ukraine.
In December 2022, in an interview with "EAN Russia", Alexey Gorshenev reasserted his apolitical posture. When asked which side the musicians had chosen regarding the so-called "special military operation", he answered:
Thank God, both I and my brother Mishka (note: Mikhail Gorshenev of «Korol i Shut») very rarely pushed ourselves into the machinery of social madness. I'll return to the very same thing. Have a guiding star so that it is always one step ahead, and do not let any mundane life factors and structures disrupt you. You must not discourage yourself. The thing is that a human being can be pierced by anything, and that already demonstrates how penetrable you are. Everything passes, and this too shall pass.
In August 2023, the musicians planned to take part in the "Nashestvie" rock festival, sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, the concert was canceled. Nearly all performers at "Nashestvie" openly support the war in Ukraine.
Concerts in Crimea
In July 2024, "Gorshenev" staged concerts in occupied Simferopol and Sevastopol, which violates Ukrainian law and international legal norms, serving as an indirect legitimation of Russia's illegal occupation of the Crimean peninsula.
