Macan's stance on the war in Ukraine

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Macan published an Instagram story in a vague "peace to the world" style, taking no clear stance regarding the so-called special military operation.

A year and a half later, however, the artist made a statement demonstrating his pro-war, patriotic stance. In August 2023, Kosolapov entered the ring before the Pravda Old School Boxing tournament in Moscow and declared that he was ready to step into the ring himself, but only if his opponent were a foreigner:

Right now is a very important time for the country, and I would not want to fight a compatriot. Therefore, if the league can bring in a foreign opponent, I am 100% ready. In heaven is God, and on earth is Russia

Ekaterina Mizulina, head of the Safe Internet League, never ceases to praise Macan's patriotism (post 1, post 2, post 3), dubbing him "the most Russian rapper" on her Telegram channel:

Rapper Macan in Krasnodar is once again chanting «Glory to Russia» from the stage to a stormy reaction from the crowd.

Followers are sharing videos from yesterday's concert by rapper Macan and today's by Volgograd rappers TSBxOPT. At both concerts, the atmosphere was tremendous: they supported our country, chanted «Russia!», youth held flags. And at Macan's concert, they even sang «Katyusha» in chorus while waiting for the artist; at the end of the concert, a giant flag of our country was made out of glitter

Macan has become another puppet of propaganda aimed at the "proper" indoctrination of Russian youth. He zealously champions traditional values, "brotherhood," approved morality, the church, censorship in music, and stands against drugs. This contributes to forming a patriotic and submissive population that is easier to manipulate and exploit for the regime's interests.

Macan in Ukrainian Apple Music trends

In April 2023, Macan's track "Asphalt 8" reached third place in Apple Music's "Top 100 Ukraine" chart. Unfortunately, not all Ukrainians are ready to give up Russian music, failing to fully realize that they are thereby continuing to sponsor artists of the aggressor state.

Military service

In October 2025, Macan announced on Instagram that he was joining the army:

Don't believe the yellow press. Nobody was hiding. Nobody was detained. Today I was at the military enlistment office, received a draft notice. We're going to serve

Concerts for the military

In March 2026, MACAN gave two concerts for military personnel:

• On the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, Macan, dressed in uniform, performed for women serving in the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia).
• He performed at the State Kremlin Palace at a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of Rosgvardia. The artist took the stage in ceremonial dress uniform and performed the track "May God Be Near Your Plans." The rapper concluded his performance with congratulations addressed to the officers.

Macan's military service is exploited by Russian propaganda as an exemplar of "true patriotism" among youth. Andrey Kosolapov has become not merely a bystander, but an active participant in the system waging war against Ukraine. Ukrainians, do you still wish to listen to this "artist"?
