Mitya Fomin (real name Dmitry Fomin) is a Russian singer, theater actor, and television presenter. He was born on January 17, 1974, in Novosibirsk, RSFSR. From 1998 to 2008, he was the frontman of the pop group Hi-Fi.

In July 2017, entered into the Myrotvorets database for illegal visits to temporarily occupied Crimea and Donbas, as well as denial of Russian aggression.
Since January 16, 2018, included in the List of persons posing a threat to the national security of Ukraine. At the Alfa Jazz Fest musical festival in Lviv, the singer declared Crimea to be Russian territory, following which he was banned from entering Ukraine for 3 years. Later, the singer asserted that he had no intention of retracting his words, stating that he was merely "stating a fact."
Mitya Fomin's (Hi-Fi) stance on the war in Ukraine
He did not openly declare his stance regarding Russia's full-scale assault on Ukraine. On February 25, 2022, Mitya Fomin published a veiled Instagram post with the following text:
".... Russian artists have always treated contemporary Ukrainian musical culture with respect and deference—it was always a step ahead. Working 'there' and 'with them' was always prestigious. We learned a lot from them/you.
... Kyiv is unlike any other city, just as its people cannot be mistaken for any other people on the planet. These are our friends, our neighbors, our kin... Yet there is nothing more useless than hiding behind black icons and internet photos of crossed hands and joined flags, pleading for peace. But are we really to blame for what is happening? It seems to me unnecessary to write that each of us is against any war—otherwise that would be monstrous! The machine was set in motion by a vast number of people not even in our country, but around the globe, people with whom we have no connection. And this is our collective, major mistake, to which we turned a blind eye for far too long. Forgive me, but we should have sounded the alarm earlier. Where was everyone? And what can we possibly do now to halt this process? Personally, I reached out by phone to many of my friends in Ukraine and offered shelter. Many of them cannot leave, waiting for evacuation or in bomb shelters, some are in Crimea or Poland, but thank God, they are all alive and safe!..."
However, by April 2022, he participated in the patriotic musical marathon "Za Rossiyu!" ("For Russia!") in support of the Russian "special military operation" in Ukraine.
