Schokk, also known as Dima Bamberg (Dmitry Ginter), is a Russian-speaking rap artist and painter. Former member of the Rap Woyska label, co-founder and former member of the Vagabund label, as well as a former artist on the Phlatline roster. Born on December 11, 1980 in Oktyabrsk, Kazakh SSR, USSR. In the 1990s, he immigrated with his family to Germany and became a German citizen.
Since 2014, he has openly supported the annexation of Crimea and Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
In 2020, an unusual shift came over the rapper and he publicly apologized to Ukrainians by posting a message on his Instagram (he subsequently confessed that he was merely planning concert tours in Ukraine to make some money):
People often write to me and remind me that during the Maidan events I held a different stance. Yes, that is true. I possessed an extremely limited information resource. (Russian state television next to my father on the couch.) Intellectually I was not equipped to understand what was taking place. And that is how things unfolded in my subsequent life – my social circle began to change, which led to a slight intellectual maturation within me. This permitted me to rethink numerous things. Of course one can accuse me of flip-flopping (reshoeing), but does that make any sense if a person changes for the better and embraces the correct position while acknowledging their errors? Ukrainians, will you forgive the old man?
In November 2022, Ksenia Sobchak asked Schokk why in 2017 he had written about Russia: "One cannot live in such countries, one must escape," and in 2019 — "I am a European, there is nothing Russian in me." He rationalized this by claiming that during that period he regularly watched Navalny and Dud, and consumed liberal media.
Such unhinged behavior on Bamberg's part leaves no doubt regarding his intellectual deficiency and venality.
In November 2022, he was entered into the database of the Myrotvorets website for the promotion of Russian Nazism and fascism.
Schokk’s Position on the War in Ukraine
Dmitry Ginter has repeatedly declared his backing of the Russian invasion of Ukraine «financially and morally».
He regards the Bucha massacre as a fabricated staging executed by the Ukrainian military designed to discredit Russia.
In November 2022, he publicly applied for political asylum in Russia, as a criminal indictment had been filed against him in Germany, where he holds citizenship, for publicly supporting Russia's military invasion of Ukraine:
I, Dmitry Fyodorovich Ginter, born December 11, 1980, address you requesting assistance. For my public pro-Russian stance and support of the SMO, a criminal case was opened against me in Germany. Being a German citizen, I can no longer return there. I publicly supported Russia back in 2014 as well, and that cost me my career. Today I am threatened with a real prison sentence and what I am confident will be a show trial in the German media. I request political asylum.

For me there is no war between Russia and Ukraine. For me there is a war between Russia and the West. On Ukrainian territory. It did not commence in February 2022 and Russia did not initiate it.
