Sergey Zhukov's stance on the war in Ukraine
Concerts in annexed Crimea
In August 2016, the group "Ruki Vverh!" performed in annexed Simferopol.
In January 2017, Sergey Zhukov was entered into the database of the Myrotvorets website for deliberate violation of the state border of Ukraine and illegal concert activities in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Reaction to the full-scale invasion
At the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sergey Zhukov adopted an "out of politics" stance.
On March 4, 2022, Zhukov published a post about the war on his Instagram, in which he expressed neutral remarks and sympathized with Russian Paralympians:
...so much information is pouring in from all sides right now that simply taking it and spreading it without the ability to verify — I won't do that... It feels like everyone hates everyone else. Hate, insults, hostility. That shouldn't be! We are all human beings first and foremost! Stop, seriously! Look where all of this is leading? Listen, they even went after the Paralympians!!! Are you serious??.... I want to believe that we are all still capable of preserving good within ourselves. And may this chaos end soon. And people will be safe. But please, «hitting» the vulnerable is not the answer.

Concert celebrating the "annexation of Crimea"
Sergey Zhukov's civic position became unmistakable after his performance at the concert celebrating the "annexation of Crimea" at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on March 18, 2022. All celebrities participating in this event are staunch supporters of the Putin regime and the war in Ukraine.
Incident with an "SMO" participant at the "Ruki Vverh!" bar
In December 2022 in Krasnodar, a man wearing military camouflage who identified himself as an "SMO" participant was denied entry to the "Ruki Vverh!" bar (owned by Sergey Zhukov). The incident quickly spread across social media, prompting Zhukov to record a video address apologizing and promising to personally invite Russian military personnel into the bar.
If these guys are truly military men or returned from the combat zone, I will personally invite them to visit us together with their friends and fellow servicemen. But this will not happen again; we have changed the rules. We are always glad to welcome Defenders of the Motherland
Sanctions and entry bans
In March 2022, the group "Ruki Vverh!" was banned from entering Latvia. In April 2022, Estonia banned entry for Sergey Zhukov, as well as performers Polina Gagarina and Philipp Kirkorov, due to their participation in the Luzhniki pro-war rally.
Since January 7, 2023, Sergey Zhukov has been under NSDC sanctions for anti-Ukrainian activities.
