Slava (Anastasia Slanevskaya) is a Russian pop singer, film actress, and songwriter, best known for her hits "Poputchitsa" ("Fellow Traveler"), "Odinochestvo" ("Loneliness"), and "Rasskazhi, mama" ("Tell Me, Mama"). She was born in May 1980 in Moscow.

Singer Slava's stance on the war in Ukraine

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.

Concerts in Crimea before the full-scale war

Slava illegally visited the annexed Crimea for concert tours in 2014, 2016, and 2020. Consequently, in April 2017, she was listed in the Myrotvorets database.

Support for the invasion and criticism of artists who left

From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Slava openly supported the actions of the Russian authorities. She repeatedly made pro-Russian statements, criticized colleagues who had left the country, and publicly voiced support for soldiers participating in the so-called "special military operation" ("SMO").

In March 2022, the singer posted an Instagram story in which she positioned herself as a Russian patriot, shifting part of the blame for negativity onto Ukrainian artists and urging people not to incite hatred:

I am Russian and I love Russia. I will not leave here, I will not run anywhere. What kind of rallies, f**k, do you want... that the haters want... brainless ones. ... I love Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. But where were those Ukrainian stars who are now inciting hatred when the Trade Unions House was bombed in Odesa? They were earning money here in our country, shaking our hands... You must not incite hatred, at least you simply shouldn't. I don't know what will happen next, guys, I don't know what will happen next. But all of this must be stopped.

Slava regularly posts emotional videos on her social media accounts, where she fiercely criticizes and insults fellow artists who condemned the war and left Russian territory (specifically Maxim Galkin, Alla Pugacheva, Zemfira, and others). She calls them "traitors, cowards, and hypocrites."

Professions of love for "SMO" participants

In October 2022, she posted an appeal to participants of the so-called special operation on Instagram, calling on them to return home as soon as possible, where they are greatly valued and awaited:

Our dear, good guys, we love you very much and we are waiting for you so much. We want to say a huge thank you for being there for us, that your strong man's hand, your strong loving shoulder protects us. If not for you, there would be nothing of the finest in the world at all — no kids, no love, no us. I love you very much. Our precious, good boys, come back, we are waiting for you so much.

Bounties for destroying Western equipment of the AFU

In 2023, the singer joined producer Vladimir Kiselev's initiative to establish a bonus fund for Russian military personnel. Slava publicly endorsed the idea of paying monetary bounties to occupiers for destroying German Leopard tanks and other Western military equipment operated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sanctions and consequences

Her vocal support for the war resulted in international sanctions and canceled concert appearances for the artist.

On October 19, 2022, she was added to Ukraine's sanctions list for "propagandizing Putin's regime and supporting the war against Ukraine."

In the spring of 2026, singer Slava was denied a Schengen visa, preventing her from performing at a scheduled festival in Germany.

Call to end the war in 2026

On July 24, 2026, amid drone strikes inside Russian territory, Slava departed the Russian Federation and released a video appeal. Weeping on camera, the singer admitted that she felt "terrible," expressed sympathy for Ukrainians, and urged Russian opinion leaders to demand that the authorities put an end to the war.

Conclusion

Slava's stance corresponds to the "Pro-war" category. Following the launch of the full-scale invasion, she consistently supported the actions of the Russian authorities and participants in the "SMO." Only in the summer of 2026, following the cancellation of her European appearances and amid strikes on Russian territory, did the singer publicly appeal for an end to the war for the first time.
