Vladimir Presnyakov (Jr.) is a Soviet and Russian pop singer, musician, composer, and actor. He became widely renowned in the 1980s. He was born on March 29, 1968, in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg).

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
He repeatedly visited occupied Crimea with performances, which led to his inclusion in the database of the «Myrotvorets» website in April 2017 for violating Ukraine's state border.
Vladimir Presnyakov's stance on the war in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Presnyakov openly supported the actions of the Russian authorities and the execution of the so-called «SMO». Unlike some members of his family (his son Nikita Presnyakov and his former mother-in-law Alla Pugacheva), the artist remained in Russia and took an active pro-government stance.
On March 8, 2022, in Moscow at the «Victory Museum», he took part in a festive event in honor of female military service members. The concert was held under the pro-war slogans «Verim i zhdem» («We believe and wait») and «MyZaMir» («We are for peace», with Z capitalized).
In October 2022, during his solo concert at «Crocus City Hall», he publicly announced financial support for the Russian military:
I greet every single one of you. I want to say that the entire fee from today's concert will be donated to our guys who are on the front lines — you know what I mean. And this is thanks to you.
In April 2023, in an interview with the publication «Vechernyaya Moskva», Presnyakov confirmed that he performs for wounded fighters of the so-called SMO in military hospitals:
I simply understood my position and I am proud of it. I believe that I did everything right. We frequently visit hospitals in Moscow and the Moscow region, giving charitable concerts. I am confident that one must always support the Motherland and our guys.
Sanctions and consequences
Due to his public support for military aggression and participation in propaganda events, the artist was placed under international sanctions:
- January 7, 2023: Added to the sanctions list of Ukraine (Presidential Decree No. 4/2023). Sanctions include freezing of assets, revocation of Ukrainian state awards, and a 10-year entry ban to the country.
- Added by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACF) to the list of warmongers and corrupt officials for taking part in concerts in support of the war against Ukraine.
