Lena Katina on the war in Ukraine

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.

In February 2003, t.A.T.u. performed on the popular American NBC television show "Tonight." The vocalists wore T-shirts displaying in Russian "F**k the War!" as a protest against the war in Iraq.

In May 2014, following the outbreak of hostilities in Donbas, Katina wrote on Twitter:

What is happening in Ukraine?! Hang in there, people!!! I want peace on earth so much! F**k the War is our slogan!!! And it always will be!!!

In June 2018, she was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for participating in Russian propaganda events, specifically performing in the Russian-occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk.

In July 2025, the duo t.A.T.u. performed in occupied Crimea, thereby deliberately severing any remnants of neutrality and becoming part of Russian propaganda, demonstratively ignoring international law, Ukraine's position, and the victims of the war.

  • Yes, we believe that I will perform in the Occupation of the territory of Ukraine, this is a violation of the law, it's cool, when you are laundered, perform in Georgia in Tbilisi
