Yulia Volkova is a Russian singer, former lead vocalist of the pop duo "t.A.T.u." Since 2010, she has pursued a solo career. Following the group's disbandment, she periodically reunited with Lena Katina, the second member of t.A.T.u., to participate in special events and concerts. She was born on February 20, 1985, in Moscow.

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
In February 2003, t.A.T.u. performed on the popular American NBC television show "Tonight." The vocalists wore T-shirts displaying in Russian "F**k the War!" as a protest against the war in Iraq.
In 2014, she spoke about her dislike for Russia on the air of the Ukrainian talk show "Lie Detector" on STB:
My sense of life and the world is not Russia and not Moscow. I am not a patriot of my homeland, I admit it honestly. I love America very much and everything that happens there.
Later, the singer refuted these statements:
What was shown on air is not my civic stance. It is merely a phrase taken out of context. Furthermore, it distorts the truth! How could I not love the country in which I was born and grew up… Where my parents live and my children live. Despite numerous offers to live and work abroad, I stay here… Consciously.
In September 2020, she was entered into the database of the "Myrotvorets" website for illegal touring activities in annexed Crimea.
Volkova commented on her concerts in annexed Crimea, followed by performances in Kyiv, as follows:
I am neutral, I don't divide people. The people have absolutely nothing to do with this. People should live peacefully, move forward, and hold each other's hands. And everything happening around us is not up to me to decide. I don't delve into it or get involved. After all, it's not our fault.
On April 28, 2021, the "apolitical" Yulia Volkova submitted documents to run in the primaries of "United Russia" for the State Duma elections. She lost the party primaries, receiving 919 votes.
Yulia Volkova's Stance on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Yulia Volkova offered no comments regarding the military aggression, adopting a stance of silence.
In July 2025, the duo t.A.T.u. performed in occupied Crimea, thereby deliberately severing any remnants of neutrality and becoming part of Russian propaganda, demonstratively ignoring international law, Ukraine's position, and the victims of the war.
