"Poslednie Tanki V Parizhe" (P.T.V.P. / Last Tanks in Paris) is a Russian punk rock band formed in 1996 by Eduard Starkov and Alexey Nikonov (Lekha Nikonov) in Vyborg, Leningrad Oblast, Russia.

"Poslednie Tanki V Parizhe" on the war in Ukraine

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.

The band's frontman, Lekha Nikonov, identifies as an anarcho-individualist and Westernizer, and considers avoiding formal employment a matter of principle. He stands in stark opposition to the ruling regime in Russia. In 2014, Nikonov commented on the situation between Russia and Ukraine as follows:

I find myself in a position where I dislike neither one side nor the other. And I see hideous politicians on both sides dragging peoples into a war that could easily escalate into a world war.... Everything happening right now will only be understood in 50–100 years and recognized as a historical process...

In an interview for the website Sobaka.ru, Alexey articulated his apolitical outlook and sympathy for both sides of the conflict:

I do not talk about politics and religion. It's not a matter of patriotism; it's simply indecent during wartime. We will sort it out afterwards. But right now I feel terrified and my heart is torn apart. I have friends both there and there. A young guy I knew was killed in Donetsk, and he had never picked up a weapon.

PTVP's Stance on the War in Ukraine

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, members of the band made no official statements or declarations regarding the war. Nevertheless, Lekha Nikonov published an anti-war post on his Telegram channel with the phrase "This is the most shameful day."

Veiled posts followed, through which Nikonov's condemnatory attitude toward the unfolding events could be discerned. For instance, a poem post about Russia:

My Russia sits in jail.
I take nothing for granted and keep three in mind:
prison, beggar's bag,
and the third — I'll lose my mind....

As well as a post in which he contrasts current events with the moral standards of Russian classical literature and curses the instigator:

This is a f***ing nightmare. To understand what is happening, it is enough to imagine the reaction of Chekhov, Tolstoy, or Dostoevsky. Damn you to hell.

A post concerning responsibility for one's position and the reality of having to answer for it:

I keep trying, probably like many of you, not to dwell on what's happening; I brush away the thoughts, suppress the reflex, because if you start thinking about it, asking yourself about the extent of your personal guilt in this ongoing horror and disgrace — you will get hooked or go even crazier from hopelessness, but what is happening is such a fierce, blind, and f***ed up nightmare that you simply cannot avoid thinking about it. And soon we will have to answer in the most serious manner: for our position, for our opinion, for our silence, or vice versa!

He commented on the presidential election in Russia:

Well okay, you trusted a man, congratulations. But there is even a Russian saying: 'TRUST, BUT VERIFY.' And how did you verify? By the words he tells you, the stuff he feeds you from the TV? By the events that have taken place? Because there haven't been other mechanisms for verifying trust in our society for a long time! Or did you appoint the television as that mechanism? Do you trust that? That is, you take a politician's word for it, and your only counter-argument is propaganda TV? How clever you all are, truly well done.

Alexey's personal Telegram channel clearly exhibits a consistent anti-Putin and anti-war stance, to the extent that it can be expressed given that the band resides in Russia.

The band "Poslednie Tanki V Parizhe" actively tours cities across the Russian Federation.

Celebrities on PTVP's Stance

There is a promoter named Vladimir Baranov, nicknamed Kalodya; he is currently organizing concerts for famous punk bands: 'Yorsh', 'Distemper', 'Poslednie Tanki V Parizhe', 'Psyche', and 'Affinage'. And he is an absolute, 100% Z-supporter who backs Putin, opposes liberals and democrats, and supports the killing of Ukrainians. But everything is clear about him, there are plenty of people like that. What I cannot understand is why my colleagues collaborate with a fascist and make money for him..... After all, they don't advocate for the war, they don't travel with propaganda brigades to perform for 'our boys', and they don't raise money for the DPR.
