Slava KPSS (Vyacheslav Mashnov) is a Russian rap artist, poet, battle rap participant, artist, and streamer. Performs under the pseudonyms Gnoyny, Sonya Marmeladova, Valentin Dyadka, and Ptichy Pepel. Born on May 9, 1990 in Khabarovsk, USSR.

Listening to this artist's tracks on official streaming platforms, social media, and other services indirectly contributes to financing the war — through taxes paid to the budget of the Russian Federation.
Ukrainophobic Statements and Ban on Entry into Ukraine
In September 2017, Mashnov was entered into the Myrotvorets website database for visiting Russian-occupied Crimea, as well as for publicly referring to Ukrainians as a "non-existent nation" during one of his concerts.
In 2017, Vyacheslav Mashnov was banned from entering the territory of Ukraine. According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the ban was triggered by "actions and statements by the artist that threaten national security." The SBU did not specify the individual actions, nor did they announce the term for which entry was prohibited. People's Deputy of Ukraine Dmytro Bilotserkovets accused Vyacheslav Mashnov of Ukrainophobia and petitioned the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to enforce the travel ban.
Slava KPSS responded in an interview:
...I have no hostility whatsoever toward Ukrainians, ... my grandmother is from Ukraine, I myself can say that I am a quarter Ukrainian.
Putin and Donbas Under the Guise of Irony
Vyacheslav Mashnov has repeatedly praised Putin in his characteristically sarcastic style. On a YouTube broadcast, when asked "What feelings does Vladimir Putin evoke in you?" Slava KPSS responded: "Reverence before the emissary of God on this earth." He also composed a track entitled "Vladimir Putin". The song features lyrics such as "Life is no fairy tale if Slava Gnoyny sold out to the Kremlin" and "Alexei Navalny is a puppet with a hand shoved up his backside."
In 2018, he released the album Donbassborn, which he dedicated to militants in Donbas. The album art featured Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, an accomplice of combat formations. On the YouTube program "Pervy Raz", Gnoyny asserted that these songs were dedicated to "the guys defending the territorial integrity of the great Russian land."
On February 19, 2022, he presented a song marking the closing of the Olympics in Russia titled "New Anthem of the RF" under his alter ego Valentin Dyadka, describing the life aspirations of Russians and their "shining dictator":
We are ruled by a great shining dictator, oh
His thoughts are far removed from earthly matters (far away)
He doesn't care about us gorging on gourmet feasts
While old grannies whine about rising grocery prices in Auchan
He is looking toward the heavens, our shining dictator, the supreme leader
Obsessed with a project that is bigger than life itself
With full bellies we are constructing a super-escalator to the skies
Tighten your belts, we'll croak for the sake of the great cause
We Russians will climb to the moon, we don't give a damn
Just to dump, dump on the heads of the Americans
We Russians will climb to the moon, we don't give a damn
Just to dump, dump on the heads of the Americans
Slava KPSS’s Position on the War in Ukraine
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Slava KPSS adopted a stance of absolute silence, providing no commentary whatsoever.
In May 2022, he released a musical piece about the war titled "Zavtra" («Tomorrow»):
Troop maneuvers flashing across the screen
Nauseated in the car, I switch off the device
We simply cheer like they are soccer players
«Our boys advanced, f***ing awesome»
We are falling back — «Probably bad»
Somewhere another stranger's life has ended
Participation in Fundraising for Electronic Warfare Systems
In August 2024, he participated in a charity concert intended to gather funds for humanitarian relief for residents of the Kursk region affected by military combat. Crucially, a portion of the proceeds was allocated for procuring EW systems (electronic warfare). Electronic warfare (EW) equipment directly constitutes military hardware produced by the military-industrial complex.
While some supporters previously attempted to excuse Slava KPSS's controversial tracks or "parody albums" as idiosyncratic sarcasm, contributing to military electronic warfare hardware is no longer a parody, but a real-world act. This constitutes tangible, concrete material support for the Russian side in the war.
Debates Surrounding Slava KPSS’s Stance
He went completely quiet after the outbreak of the war and in his work talks solely about personal emotions and states without direct formulations. You cannot easily label him an instigator of this war, but as an instigator of hatred — that is another matter entirely. You see, Slava KPSS worked for years on his persona: he cultivated a massive fan base and accustomed them to labeling absolutely any ugliness or mistake as trolling, post-irony, and sarcasm... At one point he built hype by stoking hatred between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples; let's simply not overlook that. He lauded Putin, performed in occupied Crimea, and even recorded an entire mock release titled Donbassborn. True, one cannot criminally prosecute or imprison someone for such jokes, but concluding that the author is an absolute scoundrel is completely justified.
Everyone who doesn't understand Slava KPSS's creative universe classifies him as a bard of war. Music blogger Nyuberg... despises Slava and it makes me laugh, because he is fundamentally mistaken. He attributes the album 'Donbassborn' by Big Baby Prilepin (one of Slava's alter egos) to war propaganda, when it is pure, blatant absurdity and parody.
